Why We Love Floor & Decor | Lakehouse Before & After Photos

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Floor & Decor. All opinions are 100% mine.

As most of you know, we’ve spent the last several months renovating a family lakehouse “Cabin” that was built in the 1940s. It has been in our family for years but no one has really used it over the last several years because it was so worn out and in need of serious renovation. The end goal: for it to feel bright and clean, yet still maintain its charm.

When it came to selecting the flooring that would go throughout almost the entire cabin, I quickly realized this was going to be quite the task. We had enclosed a screened in porch and made it part of the main house; so that combined with just the fact that the place is OLD, meant that nothing is square and the floors are definitely not level. The walls are either wood or rock and the ceilings are all wood so I knew adding anymore wood grain to the floor was out of the question. We considered tile or travertine for a while, but ran into issues with that because of how unlevel the property was.

The other main requirement for the floors was that they were water-resistant and super durable. I mean it is a lakehouse after all so we have to expect that people will be walking in wet. Also, I have 3 young children and 3 huge dogs, so the floors had to be able to stand up to the wear and tear that comes along with that.

I knew Floor & Decor was going to be the absolute perfect place to find our floors. They have an amazing selection of everything you could possibly need (and even more selection online!) and at an incredible value. We were definitely trying to stick to a budget but still wanted a quality product that looked great.

After doing a lot of research and perusing the Floor & Decor store and website, I settled on a Luxury Vinyl Tile product called NuCore. We went with the Everson Rigid Core Luxury Vinyl Tile which you can find HERE. It’s a cork back product making the installation super fast and simple. You can pretty much put it anywhere you want and it worked out so perfectly in our space that did not have level floors. The tile truly looks and feels like real tile with real grout, but it won’t crack or break! AND it has an anti-microbial coating, making it resistant to stains or odors that would be caused by mold or mildew. Ok one more important point: it has a lifetime residential warranty! Hallelujah.

So if I haven’t already made it clear enough, I am a huge fan of Floor & Decor and am so thankful we found the perfect product for our floors in what started out feeling like an impossible situation. A few more of my favorite things about the store: You can order samples online, and they offer free design consultation appointments

Basically… You can’t go wrong.  You just can’t. If you’re considering any type of home renovation or build you have to check out Floor & Decor.
